The tools
PDFSanitize provides free PDF tools that run in your browser. They're provided as-is, without guarantees that they'll work for every file or be available at all times.
What the tools do, and their limits
- Each tool inspects, edits, removes, flattens or redacts only what its own page describes, and re-checks the copy it creates. Where it can't confirm something, it says so instead of reporting success.
- A result with nothing found only covers what that tool checks. It doesn't mean a document contains no other information.
- The tools don't guarantee legal compliance (for example with data-protection, disclosure or records rules) and don't guarantee complete anonymity: text in the pages themselves, images, file names and other context can still identify people.
- PDF/A conformance is not validated. Changing a PDF/A file can remove its PDF/A identification, and the tools tell you when that happens.
- Existing digital signatures may become invalid after any modification, because creating a changed copy rebuilds the PDF. The tools warn before changing a signed file.
- Password-protected and other encrypted PDFs aren't supported.
Your responsibilities
- Only use the tools on files you're allowed to process.
- Keep your original file, and review important outputs before relying on them or sharing them.
- Don't rely on the tools as your only safeguard for sensitive, legal or regulated documents.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, PDFSanitize isn't responsible for losses that result from using the tools or from relying on their results. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't legally be limited.

These terms may be updated as the tools change. The date above shows when they were last updated.
